Introduction

There are a number of Gin Associations set up in China, as for example at Heibei (河北), Guangzhou City (廣洲), Hong Kong and Kaiping ( 開平). Whilst each Association can be considered as "First Amongst Equals", perhaps the one at Kaiping is the nearest to being a "Head Office", at least it is a point of reference for overseas Gin members.  Currently the Kaiping Gin Association (舜河僑刊社  ) is located at San Bu (三埠鎮)at Kiaping. The address is as follows. 

With the opening of the Gin Sun Hall Memorial Hall, the Kaiping Gin Association has now moved to the Gin Sun Hall Memorial Hall (Zhen Sun hall Gong Temple).  This makes sense as the Memorial Hall is now considered to be the focal point of all Gin Clan activities.

In February 2010, our Memorial Hall in Kaiping celebrated the installation of a bronze statue of our Progenitor 舜河 in the front courtyard.  The following photo was supplied by Chin Peng Kong of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, who took a heritage trip back to Kaiping in February/March 2010.

Note that there is a proposal to upgrade the path leading to our progenitor's tomb, as well as the surrounding structure of the tomb; see picture below.  Family members wishing to donate towards the construction of this project are welcome to contact the Memorial Hall in Kaiping, or your local Gin family association.
